Early, forced, and child marriage are not just a problem "out there", for low-income countries; it is also happening in high income countries. In the United Kingdom, rates of forced marriage are increasing, with a recent government report highlighting that 33% of forced marriage occurring before the age of 18.
Despite comparatively higher levels of access to mental health services in many high income settings, the hidden nature of practice means it is highly unlikely that those who need support with related mental health conditions will seek it. Our work aims to increase awareness to both the prevalence of the issue and the mental health needs of those affected.
